At Just Smile Dental, Dr. Webley is happy to offer dentures to our patients in Snohomish County, WA. Our dental team offers a variety of denture options to help restore your smile’s health, beauty, and function. Read on to explore our solutions and how Dr. Webley can restore your smile.

What Are Dentures?

Dentures are prosthetic teeth designed to restore your ability to eat, speak, and smile comfortably. If you’ve lost a majority of your teeth due to oral health conditions or dental trauma, dentures may be the perfect cost-effective solution for your tooth loss-related issues.

Denture appliances are supported by your gums, jawbone, and surrounding teeth for a comfortable, strong fit. Dr. Webley also provides dentures held in place by dental implants for a permanent solution to your tooth loss issues. When you come in for a consultation, our restorative dentist will determine which denture solution is right for you based on your dental needs and the goals you have for your smile.

Types of Dentures

Complete Dentures

When you’re missing all of your teeth, complete dentures are the solution for you. This appliance can replace full arches of missing teeth, allowing you to instantly regain your ability to speak, chew, and smile with ease. Dr. Webley will customize your dentures to look and act just like your natural teeth. This treatment is also ideal for patients who don’t want to undergo any invasive procedures.

Partial Dentures

Partial dentures are an ideal solution if you still have a few of your teeth remaining. This appliance consists of strategically placed metal clasps that are designed to fit comfortably and naturally in your mouth in order to complete your smile. Furthermore, these prosthetic teeth are designed to seamlessly blend with your natural teeth to create a complete look.

Implant-Supported Dentures

Implant-supported dentures use dental implants to ensure your dentures don’t shift or move out of place, unlike removable dentures. We provide two types of implant-supported dentures — fixed and removable implant-supported dentures.

  • Fixed implant-supported dentures are designed to never be taken out. You’ll practice your oral hygiene routine like you normally would. When you come in for your biannual visits, Dr. Webley can only remove your dentures when performing professional cleanings. He’ll also check if any adjustments need to be made.
  • Removable implant-supported dentures (snap-in dentures) are popular amongst our patients since they’re removable and easier to clean.

Dentures Process

During your initial consultation with Dr. Webley, he’ll perform a dental examination, go over your medical history, and take impressions and X-rays of your teeth with digital scanning. He’ll use this information to determine whether dentures are right for you before going over our options. From there, he’ll create your customized treatment plan.

With the advancement made in dental technology, you don’t have to deal with uncomfortable impressions or go through several try-in phases to determine the proper fit of your denture. With digital scans, Dr. Webley will be able to digitally design your dentures with improved accuracy and quicker fabrication time. Your dentures will be created and fitted in as little as two appointments so that you can be on your way out with your new smile.

Frequently Asked Questions

The longevity of your dentures depends on the design and the type you choose. With proper care and maintenance, implant-supported dentures last for a lifetime, though your restoration will need to be replaced every 10 years due to normal wear and tear.

Partial and complete dentures can last between seven to 10 years before replacement is needed. It’s important to practice good oral hygiene habits and appliance maintenance since it’s essential to get the most out of your dentures.

Caring for your dentures depends on the type of dentures you choose. If you have fixed implant-supported dentures, they’re irremovable, meaning you can care for them as you do with natural teeth.

For removable dentures, you can practice your normal oral hygiene routine, but with an extra added step. You must remove and soak your dentures in a denture-soaking solution every night. Doing so can help eliminate lingering harmful bacteria and keep your dentures functioning and looking their best for years to come.
